Diablos Rojos

Before the 2024 season officially started, the Diablos Rojos of Mexico City beat the New York Yankees twice in exhibition games and eventually won the LMB championship. I was lucky enough to have unique access to the team throughout the 2024 season.

Former-Los Angeles Dodger Trevor Bauer impressed the world from the pitching mound (depiste his colorful reputation back in the states) and former New York Yankee-Robinson Cano’s regular season stats were enough to lift the Diablos Rojos into the playoffs and later earn him the MVP of the entire LMB.

The rest of the 2024 season was equally thrilling. The Guerreros of Oaxaca proved to be a challenge in the playoffs. The Diablos Rojos came back from a 0-3 game deficit to win 4 games in a row a reverse sweep, an extremely rare baseball statistic. The Sultanes of Monterrey were easily defeated in 4 straight games in the Serie Del Rey championship series.

Please enjoy this still and video footage from the entire 2024 season, including the locker room celebrations in Monterrey. I am grateful to the entire Diablos Rojos organization, especially my good friend Israel. Also, many thanks to my LA friend Brandan, for inviting me to so many games. I watched more baseball in 2024 than I ever have in any one year. Vamos Diablos!
