Neither Kendra or I could remember who spotted which of the Burch twins first. Social media allows ideas to spread easily, but it’s sometimes tough to pin down where they start.
Julia and Lauren Burch, two 18-year old Canadian models, are as stunning as they are popular.
Although I know from personal experience that not all Canadians are stereotypically friendly, I had a hunch that the Burch twins would fall into the sweetheart category.

Kendra first reached out via Instagram DM and got a little chatter going. Eventually, someone needed a favor, which is always helpful when making new friends.
My experience w/ Facebook VIP Ad support allowed a nice gesture to be done for Julia when her Instagram account was put in jeopardy.
Although Kendra and I began working together after only a few emails, her social media star was still brand new in October 2018, when I first reached out.
Julia and Lauren Burch, on the other hand, were already high on the social media food chain, when Kendra and I began talking about flying them to LA, to talk influencer business.

“There’s no shortage of ideas. There’s no shortage of money. What we’re short on is trust.” — Joe Carroll
I was working in the aerospace/astronautical business when I first heard my old pal Joe say that line, but it still holds true in the modeling business.
Kendra has become a vital part of my business — not just because we have such similar personalities — but because of the need to build trust with younger models who regularly deal with an insane crush of male attention; including dick pics, foot fetish leering, and gross comments.
Q: How could I — a 38 year-old male entrepreneur and photographer — manage to distinguish myself as a good citizen among the hoard of dudes trying gracelessly to get the attention of Lauren and Julia?
A: Kendra
Social proof is an important part of marketing products, but it’s also vital to making new friends. The recommendation of a trusted friend or celebrity spokeperson goes much further than that of a stranger — just ask Mark Zuckerburg, who’s digital ad empire is based around this concept.
By the time Lauren and Julia flew to LA, I had a better sense of them both. Vegan diets. Clothing style. Similarities and differences between polite and lovely identical twins.
Their first trip from Ontario, Canada allowed lots of free time and only a little work, mainly because I know how intense I come across if I’m allowed to ramble on to perfect strangers.
By the time we wrapped up a massive photo shoot during Julia and Lauren’s second LA trip, I like to think we were all solid friends.
While Kendra and I were sucking back oysters at Gjelina in Venice Beach, no one seemed to take much offense when I inhaled part of one oyster, fired it through my nose into a cloth napkin, only to feel the laughing eyes of everyone at the table when the oyster chunk splattered messily on my button-up shirt. Sinus oyster; yet another way to make friends, evidently.
There’s no way to predict if Julia and Lauren’s recent foray into YouTube will be a well received as Kendra’s, but something tells me all three Canadian beauties will continue to shine in the world of digital video.

Julia and Lauren have their own distinct styles and I tried to keep that in mind while building their websites and curating brands to reach out to, on their behalf.
I’m grateful to make two new connections with Canada, a place of seemingly endless friendliness and beauty. Stay tuned to see how the fledgling careers of Julia and Lauren Burch shape up in the coming weeks and months.
